Surcaban ayer sus plumas los aires
los pájaros de altivas alas,
poetas del trigo y del alma.

Sus alas de hoy no vuelan, no baten,
hay voces que mandan cortarlas
por miedo a sus justas palabras.

De hastío se viste la cálida tarde
por voces que rezan y matan
pájaros de alas cortadas.
