But here it only rains.

I wonder where my sweetie's gone.

I used to call him sugar
'Cause he was sweet to me.
The reason why I'm all alone
Is very plain to see.

'Cause I left my sugar standin' in the rain,
And my sugar melted away.
Sweeter than the sugar from the sugar cane,
Didn't mean to treat him that way!

I guess my sweetie thought I was a lowdown kind,
Didn't realise I was so refined,
When I left my sugar standin' in the rain

It seems that he was kinda hard and let me stand,
