Once I stopped at a little shop
And a girl on a lovely cameo
Caught my eye and my heart leaped high
Seemed I heard her say hello


Just one look overtook my heart
I was part of a world I didn’t know
Taken there by the sweet and fair
Lady on the cameo


We were strolling in a garden
When a chansonette  
Softly drifted through
She confided as we glided in a minuet
I love you


Moments rare were the moments there
Drifting back to the lovely long ago
Side by side with the dreamy eyed
Lady on the cameo
