MY HOUSE (Paul Overstreet / Al Gore (m & l) ) As sung by Randy Travis 1987 < Always & Forever > My house is no mansion But it still holds my treasures Things that will never be sold. There's few things in this world That just can't be measured By money, by silver and gold. And my house is filled with the things that I love From her smile in the mornin' To her soft goodnight hugs Her whisper, her laughter Everything that she does My house is filled with the things that I love. This old bed that we sleep on Don't have satin covers But it holds some great memories. No decorations can make better lovers In her arms I feel like a king And my house is filled with the things that I love From her smile in the mornin' To her soft goodnight hugs Her whisper, her laughter Everything that she does And my house is filled with the things that l love... Yes, my house is filled with the things that I love. Notes: Randy Travis, an American singer-songwriter is well known in country music circles for his distinctive baritone voice. Commencing his career, he was seen as a moving force in country music history. He ultimately switched gears to Gospel in more recent years. Many of his ardent followers feel that one his most defining songs, career wise, was < Forever and Ever, Amen >. (see elsewhere in this ILP database). This song sprung from his 1987 second album < Always And Forever > . < My House > was also released as an 'A' side single 45 rpm disk in 1987. The 'B' side was < Too Gone Too Long >. (see elsewhere in this ILP database). (Transcribed by David Story- March 2014)
