RUN WILD
(Barry and Robin Gibb (m & l) )
As sung by Barbra Streisand 1980 < Guilty >
I wandered into your wonderland
With eyes open wide
You turn me into your yesterday
But you will remain inside of me
Like I care for you
Oooo, I care for you.
Run wild, out on the edge of time, child
Carry your dreams away, love
No one can hold you now
For you are an island
(bridge)
I may be broken
But understand, my love will get by
There will be others along the way, my love
They will try to care for me
Like I care for you
Oooo, I care for you.
Run wild, out on the edge of time, child
Carry your dreams away, love
No one can hold you now
For you are an island.
(bridge)
Run wild, out on the edge of time, child
Carry your dreams away
No one can hold you now
For you are an island.
Run wild, out on the edge of time, child [BeeGees]
Carry your dreams away, love [Streisand]
No one can hold you now
(fade)
Notes:
The cowriters of this lyric (and music) were known
popularly as The Bee Gees, hailing from The Isle of
Man. They lived in the British Isles until the 1950s.
Their astounding run of 56 years (as of 2014) writing,
producing and singing their own pop music creations,
have resulted in sales of over 220 million units.
There are only a handful of artists who have ever
outsold them (Presley, Beatles, Jackson, McCartney,
Brooks). Only Barry of the original Bee Gees lives on
today.
Barbra Streisand is an American singer song writer
who also acts, produces and directs films. She has
won a host of entertainment awards too numerous to
mention.
RUN WILD was also released as the 'B' side of a
7 inch single in 1980 (in more than one country).
The 'A' side was WOMAN IN LOVE
(Transcribed by David Story- April 2014)
