The first time I kissed her, she cried
And said I bet I'll still love you after I die

When we were married, she cried then too
And I could hardly hear through all her tears when she said I do

When she first held our baby, she cried
And insisted he be named after me for he had my eyes

But to some people's life autumn comes early
And God will let a favourite flower die

And I miss her so, but Lord, she's happy I know
For just before she left, she said, "I'll miss ya", then she cried
