YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO YOUNG (Josef Myrow (m) / Mack Gordon 1946) Lyrics as sung my Ella Fitzgerald < Ella Fitzgerald Get Happy > 1959 Sung by: Frank Sinatra 1956 Dick Haymes 1946 Rosemary Clooney 1956 Perry Como 1960 Chris Connor 1956 Jeri Southern 1957 The Four Freshmen 1961 Michael Bublé Dean Martin Barbara Cook Barry Manilow Paul Anka Chet Baker Emilie-Claire Barlow Tha Rat Pack And many others... You make me feel so young You make me feel so spring has sprung And every time I see you grin I'm such a happy individual. The moment that yo u speak I want to go play hide-and-seek I want to go and bounce the moon Just like a toy balloon. You and I, are just like a couple of tots Runnin' across a meadow Pickin' up lots of forget-me-nots. You make me feel so young You make me feel there are songs to be sung Bells to be rung and a wonderful fling to be flung. And even when I'm old and gray I'm gonna feel the way I do today You make me feel so young. You make me feel so young You make me feel there are songs to be sung Bells to be rung, and a wonderful fling to be flung And even when I'm old and gray I'm gonna feel the way I do today You make me feel so... You make me feel so... You make me feel so young. Notes: This song/lyrics derive from the 1946 20th Century Fox musical 'Three Little Girls in Blue'. In this movie, the song was performed by Charles Smith and Vera-Ellen (voices dubbed by Del Porter and Carol Stewart). Directed by H. Bruce Humberstone Leads: June Haver / George Montgomery / Vivian Blaine / Vera-Ellen / Celeste Holm Dick Haymes was one of the first 'out of the blocks' with this song after the movie was released but Frank Sinatra is generally held to be the one who popularized it. As one of the creators, Mack Gordon was a Polish born American and a vaudeville actor and singer. He wrote such well known songs such as AT LAST I'M MAKING BELIEVE and YOU'LL NEVER KNOW The other creator, Josef Myrow was a Russian born composer who accumulated several Academy Award nominations during his career. YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO YOUNG was also released as the 'A' side of a 45 rpm disk in 1959. The 'B' side was Gershwin's BUT NOT FOR ME (Transcribed by Henry Watkinson - February 2004 additional info by David Story- April 2014)
