BEWARE OF APRIL RAIN

A wise old gypsy at a country fair
Told me, "Your love won't be in vain!",
But I see clouds and so I say,
"Beware of April rain!".
And then I met my love one April night
As raindrops sang a sad refrain,
And I remember as he held me tight,
"Beware of April rain!".
Our dream went on,
I found myself at heaven's door!
Then he was gone
And took my love for evermore!
Now I'm alone with just a memory
And in my heart the tears remain;
That's what the gypsy meant when warning me,
"Beware of April rain!".
But I see clouds and so I say,
"Beware of April rain!".
And I remember as he held me tight,
"Beware of April rain!".
Our dream went on,
I found myself at heaven's door!
Then he was gone
And took my love for evermore!
Now I'm alone with just a memory
And in my heart the tears remain;
That's what the gypsy meant when warning me,
"Beware of April rain!".
