BLONDE SAILOR,THE
(Jacob Pfeil / Mitchell Parish / Bell Leib
as recorded by The Andrews Sisters

June 26th 1945
A girl and a sailor were parting one day,
She smiled through her teardrops and brushed them away.
"I wish I could stay here," he sighed soft and low,
"But duty is calling and now I must go!"
"Farewell, your blonde sailor must leave for a while, dear,
Farewell, send me off with a kiss and a smile, dear.
All my love and devotion I will leave in your care,
As deep as the ocean, and as true as a prayer.
When my journey is over, you'll be waiting I know,
Farewell, my sweet darling, your blonde sailor must go!".
"When my journey is over,
you'll be waiting I know,
Farewell, my sweet darling,
your blonde sailor must go!".
