I only get to see him once in a while
Whenever she goes out, he comes over for a little while
I know he can't stay long until he has to go
He can only love me for an hour or two
And then he must go home

He loves me on borrowed time, whatever he can get
She don't know what he's doin'
Or where his borrowed time is spent
Maybe some day I can have him, forever he'll be mine
But right now I'm just lovin' him on borrowed time

He says he's gonna leave her 
And come to me someday
Well, as long as I'm gonna have him
I guess that I can wait
