COFFEE CIGARETTES AND MEMORIES
Reade / Stuart
as rec by Jeri Southern 1958
Coffee, the third cup,
Cigarettes, the fifth one,
Memories, haunting memories,
That's all I have to keep me company.
Coffee, the fourth cup,
Cigarettes, the sixth one,
Memories, same old memories,
They fill my nights while you're away from me.
Watching the door,
Pacing the floor,
Hoping that maybe you'll call.
The waiting will end,
And I'll pretend
I haven't missed you at all!
Coffee, the fifth cup,
Cigarettes, the tenth one,
Memories, memories,
That's all there'll be
Till you come back to me.
Coffee and cigarettes
And memories, memories
Till you come back to me.
