COTTAGE IN THE RAIN
Thomas "Fats" Waller / Spencer Williams
Thomas "Fats" Waller (vocal & piano)
In the land of bliss, why remember thia alone,
When together we were happy just to be alone, alone?
Duties all unfurled,
I'm in another world again,
Bliss enclosed in cellophane
at my cottage in the rain.
Big clouds high above,
And showers filled with love again
Pat against the window pane
Of our cottage in the rain.
Day dreams in the day,
They keep our love forever new;
Hearts beating in rhythm
Of the rain on the roof, (scat).
In each other's arms,
We're blessed with heaven's charms again, (yes, once more baby!)
Life is just a sweet refrain
In our cottage in the rain.
In each other's arms,
We're blessed with heaven's charms again,
Life is just a sweet refrain
In our cottage in the rain. (rain on!)
