HERE IN MY HEART
(Jimmy Rankin 2011)
As sung by Jimmy Rankin 2011 < Forget About The World >
Someone's always breaking down packing their clothes
Leaving for good or comin’ back home.
Either we're like strangers or the best of friends
Talking all night or never speaking again.
Giving it up
Letting it go
Holding it back
Risking it all.
Falling in love
Falling apart
There’s never a dull moment
Here in my heart.
Sometimes I think we're crazy to be doing this at all
Going round in circles running into the walls.
Baby we're just used to loving on the edge
We got this fire but we’re not there yet.
Giving it up
Letting it go
Holding it back
Risking it all.
Falling in love
Falling apart
There’s never a dull moment
Here in my heart.
Bridge)
Here in my heart.
Giving it up
Letting it go
Holding it back
Risking it all.
Falling in love
Falling apart
There’s never a dull moment
Here in my heart.
Giving it up
Letting it go
Holding it back
Risking it all.
Falling in love
Falling apart
There’s never a dull moment
Here in my heart.
Here in my heart.
Oh..
NOTES:
The Rankin Family are a Canadian musical family group.
They hail from Mabou, province of Nova Scotia
(the same province as Rita MacNeil
…see elsewhere in this ILP database for her work).
Jimmy Rankin wrote the majority of work for the Rankins.
The original group of five were made up from twelve siblings,
all of whom were musically talented. The first group started
singing in 1970. They performed Celtic music as well as
jigs and reels.
They won a number of Canadian music awards. Sadly, many
of the members from the original group, passed relatively
early in life.
