He said that she said that he could be the very sweetest!
She said "We mustn't argue",
He said "Who wants to argue?",
She said that he said that this will never do!
He said "Oh don't be silly",
She said "Did you say silly?",
He said that she said that he was acting very silly!
He said "Oh don't be childish",
She said "Did you say childish?",
He said "That's what I said" and then the fun began!
She cried "I'll go home to momma
And you'll never get to see me any more".
He sighed "If I know your momma,
When she sees you comin' she will slam the door".
She threw a pot at his noodle
And began to chase him all around the room.
But he was not such a dumbell
So he ran like mad and stumbled on a broom,
And that really was his doom,
'Cause she started swingin',
Left right left right, bing bang, some price, boom!
The neighbours began to gather,
They all were in a lather,
Crowds cried aloud when the cops came with the hook and ladder.
Near to the door
They put their ear to the door,
When they adhered still they listened and this is what they heard.
He said "I'm sorry snookum",
She said "I love old cookum,
Please won't you try to forgive your 'ittle girlie?".
He said "Oh you're the sweetest",
She said "No you're the sweetest",
He said that she's just the sweetest in the world!
She said "No, you're the sweetest thing",
She said "No, you're the sweetest".
