I LOOKED AT HEAVEN
(Edwards m & l)
As released by Tommy Edwards 1959 < Tommy Edwards For Young Lovers > .
I looked at Heaven
And you looked back at me
I looked at Heaven
It was a wonderful thing to see.
Your smiling face
And there in your eyes
Every star in place
Like they are in the skies.
I talked to Heaven
When you said I love you
I walked in Heaven
Under a sky of blue.
It was wonderful
Absolutely, it was meant to be
When I looked at Heaven
And you looked back at me.
(Bridge)
Your smiling face
And there in your eyes
Every star in place
Like they are in the skies.
I talked to Heaven
When you said I love you
I walked in Heaven
Under a sky of blue.
It was wonderful
Absolutely, it was meant to be
When I looked at Heaven
And you looked back at me.
NOTES:
Tommy Edward was an American singer and songwriter.
He passed away quite young at 47 so his discography
was not extensive. However, a couple of his songs,
popularized during the later 1950s will stay in
many hearts, particularly
It's All In The Game
and
The Morning Side Of The Mountain .
The old Hank Williams song from the mid 1940s
You Win Again .
also became one of his hits.
"I Looked At Heaven" was also released as the
'B' side of a 7 inch single 1959. The 'A' side was
I've Been There. The orchestra and chorus for
both of these releases was under the direction of
LeRoy Holmes. See elsewhere in this ILP database.
Note that the ILP version of
I've Been There
contain lyrics done by Margaret Whiting, not Edwards.
