For swimming you need a pool or beach,
For football eleven men,
For boxing you need two guys who can fight
And a man who can count to ten.

But for the indoor sport,
That wonderful indoor sport,
You need a boy and a girl and the lights turned low;
They say once you try it that you'll love it so!
My lips are eager to be taught,
Let's go out for the indoor sport!

For polo you gotta have a horse,
For bullfights you should have Spain,
For baseball you need a great big field
And a hope that it doesn't rain.

But for the indoor sport,
That wonderful indoor sport,
You need two arms that can bring thrills you've waited for,
Well you've got the arms, need I mention more?
So let's start compiling our report
On the joys of the indoor sport!

In tennis you learn to chase a ball,
In fishing you learn to lie, 
For skiing you need a place where it snows
And an ambulance standing by.

But for the indoor sport,
That wonderful indoor sport,
You need a heart on fire, lips that just can't wait,
Well I've got the feelin' so why hesitate?
Like each sailor does in port,
Let's go out for the indoor sport!
On four for the indoor sport,
Let's go out for the indoor sport!
