JENNY
(Jack Segal / Paul Vance (m & l))
Johny Mathis 1961
Oh, oh, oh, oh Jenny
I've known others since Jenny
But I've never met any
Who could make me forget.
That childish look of wonder
On her angel face
In that wild enchanted moment
Of our first embrace.
Got to look for Jenny
Now I'm wiser and older
Now I know how to hold her
If I found her again.
If I must search forever
That's just what I'll do
Oh, Jenny
I'm still so in love with you.
(bridge)
If I must search forever
That's just what I'll do
Oh, Jenny
I'm still so in love with you.
NOTES:
Johnny Mathis has sold over 350 million records confirmed by Guinness World
Records and was the undisputed king of the romantic Fifties ‘make out ‘ music.
Interestingly, his Greatest Hits albums (3) starting in 1958, of which this
lyric is part, were the beginning of a trend copied by every record company to
this day ('Greatest Hits'). The first album of this collection still holds the
distinction of being the second longest charting album in the history of
Billboard (490 weeks).
