LOVELINES
(Rodney Temperton (m & l) )
As sung by the Carpenters on < Lovelines > 1989
Previously recorded earlier (see notes).
Darlin', you got me fallin'
You're the only one who ever does it right
Every night I'm dreamin' about the feelin'
You know I can't explain what's goin' down
My head keeps spinnin' round.
You are my lovelines
And that's all right me
Just give me good times
The way that love should be.
Baby, you're the warm glow
That helps me through the day
And darlin' I know, I'll always feels this way
'Cause lovelines never fade.
Baby, come on and take me, into that wonder land Where only lovers go
Heaven knows I need you
I wanna feel you.
I got that strange sensation deep inside
That only you can satisfy.
You are my lovelines
And that's all right me
Just give me good times
The way that love should be.
Baby, you're the warm glow
That helps me through the day
And darlin' I know, I'll always feel this way
So give me lovin' like I've never known before
Make me cry out loud for more.
(bridge)
You're, you're my lovelines
And that's all right me
Just give me good times
The way that love should be.
Baby, you're the warm glow
That helps me through the day.
And darlin' I know, I'll always feel this way.
'Cause you're my lovelines
And that's all right me
Just give me good times
The way that love should be.
Baby, you're the warm glow
That helps me through the day.
And darlin' I know, I'll always feel this way.
'Cause you're my lovelines
And that's all right me
Just give me good times
The way that love should be.

NOTES:
The Carpenters were a talented brother/sister singer/
songwriting duo hailing from Los Angeles CA USA.
Their distinctive soft rock sound provided contrast
to the loud and raucous sounds of the day. As well
as singing, Karen was accomplished at drums and
brother Richard at piano. Sadly, the duo's career
ended prematurely with the death of Karen Carpenter
in 1983. She was 32 years old.
The song 'Lovelines' was the title track of the album
< Lovelines > released in 1989. It also had appeared
on Karen Carpenters solo album in 1979/80 that was
rejected at the time and not released by A&M executives.
Finally after her death, Karen's entire solo album
(including this song) was released in 1996 on CD
in it's original form as Karen had intended.
< Lovelines > was also released as the B side of a
45 rpm single in 1989 (the A side was
< If I Had You >. (see elsewhere in this ILP database).
