Millennium Song (2000 years)
Mark Whitty
Two thousand years, laughter and tears
Last century jazz, music appears.
Just the smallest window open,
giving birth to what we're hopin'
Will remain our music for the,
next two thousand years.
It could have been, much further back,
Only if Beethoven was black!
Jazz is alive, sure to survive
Dig that hot Jive! music with drive!
Louis, Duke and Basie, made the
jazz-case prima facie starting
early in the nineteen twenties
through to thirty five!
Hope they keep jazz, music my dears,
For another two thousand years
