MOON MUST HAVE FOLLOWED ME HOME, THE
(Milton De Lugg (m) Bob Hilliard (l) )
as recorded by Helen O'Connell
with George Siravo & his Orchestra
1950's
June! Moon! Spoon! Tune!
Kiss! Bliss! You I miss!
I feel so romantic in my one room flat,
The moon must have followed me home!
I looked out the window and I'm positive that
The moon must have followed me home!
It isn't right to call you up at three in the morning
To tell you that you knock me off my feet,
But mister moon is sending me a special warning
That only you can make my life complete, my sweet!
I feel so inspired in my one room flat
That I'm writing poetry,
All kinds of poetry;
First time I ever wrote a poem,
But the moon that was shinin' in your eyes last night
Must have followed me home!
June! Moon! Spoon! Tune!
Kiss! Bliss! You I miss!
The moon must have followed me home!
The moon must have followed me home!
It isn't right to call you up at three in the morning
To tell you that you knock me off my feet,
But mister moon is sending me a special warning
That only you can make my life complete, my sweet!
I feel so inspired in my one room flat
That I'm writing poetry,
All kinds of poetry;
First time I ever wrote a poem,
But the moon that was shinin' in your eyes last night,
All last night,
Big and bright,
The moon that was shinin' in your eyes last night,
Followed me all the way home!
