MORE BEER
(Miller)
as recorded by The Andrews Sisters
with Vic Schoen & his Orchestra
December 14th 1948
On Saturday night we get together for a glass of beer,
The people know that there will be good cheer.
We chatter and smile and drink awhile, 'cause we are friendly folks,
We talk a lot and laugh a lot and tell each other jokes.
Then we shout "more beer!" and we we bang our glasses down;
There's no doubt, more beer and our troubles all will drown!
And we never fear, 'cause lots of beer in town;
Raise your glasses and shout loud and clear, "more beer!".
What do we do on Monday night?
We get lots of sleep.
What do we do on Tuesday night>
We get lots of sleep.
On Wednesday night we sleep some more,
Thursday nap from two to four,
Friday night we all get ready
To wake for Saturday night.
Then we shout "more beer!" and we we bang our glasses down;
There's no doubt, more beer and our troubles all will drown!
And we never fear, 'cause lots of beer in town;
Raise your glasses and shout loud and clear, "more beer!".
On Saturday night we get together for a glass of beer,
The people know that there will be good cheer.
We chatter and smile and drink awhile, 'cause we are friendly folks,
We talk a lot and laugh a lot and tell each other jokes.
Then we shout "more beer!" and we we bang our glasses down;
There's no doubt, more beer and our troubles all will drown!
And we never fear, 'cause lots of beer in town;
Raise your glasses and shout loud and clear, "more beer!".
