Here's a song I composed 'bout my friend Blind Lemon
We's runnin' together for so many years in Dallas
He went away and he stayed 'way from his wife he gots
Til' he gets his job spending five years on *Pea


And his wife lied down and dream 'bout it one night
When he woke up the second night, here what she said:

She told her little boy to play the piano piece for her

And devoted preacher wouldn't take him back no mo'


But when he come and sung that song
She walked to the do' with her hands behind her
And here what she said to him
'Cold Blind Lemon, standin out there cryin'

She tol' her little girl to play the piano piece for us

After little girl play the piano a piece
Then the woman she sit down, she played a piece, herself
