NOBODY'S BLUES BUT MINE
Clarence Williams
as rec by Bessie Smith & her Band August 19th 1925 New York
Daddy, daddy, where did you stay last night?
Daddy, daddy, where did you stay last night?
Don't you realise you ain't treatin' me right?
Bad that I'm feelin' and I may feel sad,
'Tain't nobody's blues but mine!
When I was with you, I never was glad,
'Tain't nobody's blues but mine!
When sadness overtakes me and old time favourite views,
I wake up in the mornin' with them heart-sickenin' blues.
If I play the game and I lose this time,
'Tain't nobody's blues but mine!
