OH! MISTER MAGIC MAN
Harry Hemsley
Harry Hemsley
I sometimes go to parties, although they're pretty tame,
I often say I'll stop away, but go there all the same.
But when the conj'rer gets there, then everything's O.K.
I'd call him Mr. Magic Man, if I had my own way -
Oh Mr. Magic Man you fill us with surprise,
You do so many clever things, before our wondering eyes,
Watches, rings, and bracelets, they vanish out of sight,
You think they're lost, oh no they're not, they come back quite all right.
Sometimes he wants assistance, I'm pleased as pleased can be
If when he looks around the room, he casts his eyes on me,
To help him with his magic, I quite enjoy the fun.
And though I'm standing by his side, I don't know how its done.
Oh Mr. Magic Man you fill us with surprise,
You do so many clever things, before our wondering eyes,
>From your hat comes rabbits, and purple turns to blue
Oh Magic Man, you're marvellous, what clever things you do.
He asked one night for Dad's watch, he gave it him of course,
He struck it with a hammer, and he struck it with such force,
The watch just flew to pieces, and one boy shouted "GOAL",
He gathered up the pieces, and restored the watch quite whole.
Oh Mr. Magic Man you fill us with surprise,
You do so many clever things, before our wondering eyes,
I'm going to be a conj'rer myself when I am six,
'cos my Dad said - on my birthday, he'll buy me a box of tricks.
