OH THAT FEELING
(Jack Segal / Paul Vance (m & l) )
As sung by Johnny Mathis 1961 < Portrait Of Johnny >
Oh, I'm gettin' that feelin'
Come over her
Where you belong.
Oh, you give that feelin'
Now that you're near.
It's comin' on strong.
It seems that I
Fail to get by
'Till I'm around you.
Then oh, look at me go
Whenever my arms
Surround you.
Oh, you're getting' that feelin'
That wonderful feeling
That I'm speaking of
That beautiful feelin'
Of fallin' in love.
It seems that I
Fail to get by
'Till I'm around you.
Then oh, look at me go
Whenever my arms
Surround you.
Oh, you're getting' that feelin'
That wonderful feelin'
That I'm speaking of
That beautiful feelin'
Of fallin'
Feelin' of fallin'
Feelin' of fallin' in love.
Oh, I'm gettin' that feelin'
Oh, you're gettin' that feelin'.
NOTES:
Johnny Mathis has sold over 350 million records
confirmed by Guinness World Records and was the
undisputed king of the romantic Fifties 'make out '
music.
Interestingly, his Greatest Hits albums (3)
starting in 1958 of which this lyric song is
part, were the beginning of a trend copied by
every record company to this day ('Greatest Hits').
The first album of this collection still holds the
distinction of being the second longest charting
album in the history of Billboard (490 weeks).
< Oh That Feeling > was also released as the 'B'
side of a 45 rpm single in 1961. The 'A' side was
< My Love For You > . (see elsewhere in this ILP database)
