ONCE UPON A SUMMER AFTERNOON
(Levitt / Snyder)
John Gary
There were blue butterflies golden daffodils
And a pale August sky filled with whippoorwills
When we fell in love once upon a summer afternoon
I remember a kiss and an apple tree
And the sound of her laughter still follows me
We were so in love once upon a summer afternoon.
But the end of the dream always makes me cry
I can still hear the word goodbye
Only blue butterflies, golden daffodils, apple trees
And my heart knows I love her still
Once her love was mine once upon a summer afternoon
Once her love was mine once upon a summer afternoon
