OVER THE HILLS TO YOU
(Poem by Russell J. England / Music by Clay Smith, 1921)
I am coming back my darling
Over the hills to you
I am riding night and morning
Over the hills to you
The big red sun is sinking
Of you, dear heart, I'm thinking
When the light of dawn is gleaming
I'll be over the hills with you
I've been lonesome for you darling
Longing to be with you
I've been eager for the journey
Over the hills to you
Each milestone passed with yearning
Marks a stage of my returning
In strong arms of love I'll fold you
When I'm over the hills with you.
