The first time, the first time you made me blue
I should have stayed away, stayed away from you
But I just didn't know the rules of the game.

And many times like the time before
You know you made me cry but I came back for more
Still I didn't know the rules of the game.

Now I know somebody, someone's gonna make you blue
And you're gonna need someone to tell your trouble to
But there'll be one you know who'll always come to you
Guess I'll never know the rules of the game.
