STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU (Russell Javors (m & l) ) As sung by Karen Carpenter on her solo album < Karen Carpenter > 1979/80 I remember the first time I laid more than eyes on you We've been in love for a long time And I'm still in love with you. I am so still in love with you Will you always understand I do not know what I would do Without you. I'm in perpetual motion I am always on the move You must have slipped me a potion babe Cause I'm still in love with you. I am so still in love with you Will you always understand I do not know what I would do Without you. I don't need any reasons I don't need no alibies So don't ask me no questions, babe I won't hand you any lies. Well, I am so still in love with you Will you always understand I do not know what I would do Without you. (bridge) And you know that tomorrow Will be different than to day We beg, steal and borrow But we always stay the same. Well, I am so still in love with you Will you always understand I do not know what I would do Without you. Well, I am so still in love with you Will you always understand I do not know what I would do Without you. (fade) NOTES: The Carpenters were a talented brother/sister singer/ songwriting duo hailing from Los Angeles CA USA. Their distinctive soft rock sound provided contrast to the loud and raucous sounds of the day. As well as singing, Karen was accomplished at drums and brother Richard at piano. Sadly, the duo's career ended prematurely with the death of Karen Carpenter in 1983. She was 32 years old. This song/lyric was part of a solo project with Karen Carpenter and Phil Ramone, produced during 1979/80. The album containing this song was Karen's only solo album. Unfortunately the project was rejected as a release by some A&M executives. After Karen's death, the album was eventually released (1996). (Transcribed by David Story- April 2014)
