SUGAR IN YOUR COFFEE
(Ray Griff)
Bill Anderson - 1972
I came downstairs and found the mornin' paper by my plate
A glass of orange juice waitin' there for me
I looked across the table and I saw the sweetest face
She smiled at me and then I heard her say
Do you want sugar in your coffee, honey on your toast
Or baby, would you rather that I hold you close
Do you want scrambled eggs and bacon, a bowl of shredded wheat
Do you want sugar in your coffee or lovin' warm and sweet
I watched her as she moved and knew that she was heaven sent
I lived again sweet memories in my head
I never knew real happiness or what it really meant
Until my baby turned to me and said
Do you want sugar in your coffee, honey on your toast
Or baby, would you rather that I hold you close
Do you want fingertips to touch you and kisses on your cheek
Do you want sugar in your coffee or lovin' warm and sweet
Do you want sugar in your coffee, honey on your toast...
Or baby, would you rather that I hold you close
Do you want fingertips to touch you and kisses on your cheek
Do you want sugar in your coffee or lovin' warm and sweet
