Here's a story of a taxi driver
Who drove me to number three;
I said "Please wait!",
Although it was late,
And here;s what he said to me;
"It's getting late, my lady,
Don't make me wait, my lady.
It's time for me to go
To the one that I love so!",
That's the taxi driver's serenade.
"Your night is young, my lady,
My day was long, my lady.
Tonight no more I'll roam
And it's time to make for home!",
That's the taxi driver's serenade.
"Forgive me if I say, madam,
There's someone waiting for me.
I wouldn't miss
That goodnight kiss,
So full of sincerity!".
"It's getting late, my lady,
Don't make me wait, my lady.
I've a heart the same as you,
I must keep that rendezvous!",
That's the taxi driver's serenade.
