TENNESSEE BIRD WALK
(Jack Blanchard)
Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan - 1970
Take away the trees and the birds'll have to sit upon the
ground..ummmm..
And take away their wings and the birds'll have to walk to get around
And take away the bird baths and dirty birds will soon be everywhere
Take away their feathers and the birds'll walk around in underwear
Take away their (a little whistle) and the birds will have to
whisper when they sing (verbal "chirp chirp")
And take away their common sense and they'll be headed southward in
the spring
Oh remember me darling when spring is in the air
And the bald-headed birds are whispering everywhere
You can see them walkin' southward in their dirty underwear
That's the Tennessee Bird Walk
How bout some trees so the birds won't have to sit upon the
ground..ummmm..
And how 'bout some wings so the birds won't have to walk to get
around
And how 'bout a bird bath or two so the birds'll all be clean
And how 'bout some feathers so their underwear no longer will be seen
How 'bout a (little whistle) so the birds won't have to whisper when
they sing
And how 'bout some common sense so they won't be blockin' traffic in
the spring
Oh remember me my darling when spring is in the air
And the bald-headed birds are whispering everywhere
When you see them walkin' southward in their dirty underwear
That's the Tennessee Bird Walk (chirp chirp)
That's the Tennessee Bird Walk (chirp chirp)
That's the Tennessee Bird Walk (chirp chirp)
That's the Tennessee Bird Walk (chirp chirp)
