THE HOLIDAY SONG
Harry Hemsley
Harry Hemsley
We're glad that school is over,
Though we always like to learn,
And gain a little knowledge,
And our teacher's praises earn.
But a little break is good for all,
And so you will agree,
That a holiday once in a while,
Is good for you and me.
Hurrah for the holidays,
They are such jolly days,
No thought of folly days,
Only of fun.
Roaming the countryside,
>From morn till eventide,
No one to scold or chide,
Free everyone.
When studying in classroom,
We may feel a trifle bored,
But holidays are soon here
And they are our reward.
Reward for all our labours,
As we work out vexing sums,
And try to get each sum correct,
Which somehow never comes.
Hurrah for the holidays,
They are such jolly days,
No thought of folly days,
Only of fun.
Roaming the countryside,
>From morn till eventide,
No one to scold or chide,
Free everyone.
