Brother says he's hungry too
If daddy don't get a job real soon

Since they cut off the credit at the store
I used to ask Mom what's for supper 
Now I don't ask anymore

Daddy's been off from work now 
Two months and a day
Mama she don't say nothin'
But last night I heard her pray
Oh Lord, please do somethin'
Somethin' mighty fast
Me and these babies are hungry
I don't know how long we can last

The people from the church came by last night 
And brought a big basket of food
I guess Mama's prayers were answered 
It's strange how the Lord does move
'Cause we got food in this house
Now we got food in this house

Now when we say the blessings 
We thank him for the food in this house
