THINGS THAT MEAN SO MUCH TO ME

They're sitting around the camp fire,
Talking of scenes far away;
Every thought seems to turn to the future,
And this is what one has to say;
The shop around the corner,
The schoolhouse further down,
That little church on High Street
In that sleepy old town;
Those are the things I want to see,
The things that mean so much to me!
The cricket games in Summer,
So pleasant to recall,
The gang down at the local
Almost any time at all;
Those are the things I want to see,
The things that mean so much to me!
Finding the wayside cafe
For cakes and tea for two,
Paddling along together
In the evening's misty blue.
Reading the Sunday papers
The way we used to do,
Oh, how bee-lissful things are!
Those friendly get-togethers
With folks I know and love,
The smiling face of someone,
My brother dreaming of;
Those are the things I want to see,
The things that mean so much to me!
Oh, how bee-lissful things are!
Those friendly get-togethers
With folks I know and love,
The smiling face of someone,
My brother dreaming of;
When I come back I want to see,
The things that mean so much to me!
