TWILIGHT
Robert Craig Wright
as rec by Anne Shelton w Stanley Black & his Orch 1940's
Twilight, softly calling,
Twilight, when the cares of the day are through,
High over the green hills there's a place I hurry to;
There in the twilight, by our favourite willow tree,
Where I carved "I Love You!", someone's waiting for me.
Smiling, with the wind blowing through his hair,
I pray that I always will find him there.
Each day, in the hush when the sun is low,
Together we'll wander, dear, in the twilight glow.
Smiling, with the wind blowing through his hair,
I pray that I always will find him there.
Each day, in the hush when the sun is low,
Together we'll wander, dear, in the twilight glow.
(in the twilight glow)
note - based on Alexander Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances" fr "Prince Igor" 1888 opera, tune later used as basis for "Stranger In Paradise"
