Everywhere I go the shout is "Swingin'!",
Seems to me that swing is king,
And if that is so,
I would like to know,
What is this thing called swing?

When I hear a tune, try to sing it
In a croonin' voice like Bing,
But the band gets hot
And I'm on the spot,
What is this thing called swing?

With great persistence
I've sought assistance
>From homes and filo fans;
They told me in advance they too proclaim it,
But simply can't explain it!

If someone knows I wish they'd spring it,
So that I can solve this thing;
For goodness sake,
Give a guy a break!
