Why do certain things in our lives have to change
Why can't all the good things remain
Why does love have to begin, when we know it will end
And why can't our dreams come true

Laughing today and feeling good
Crying tomorrow, I knew I would  
For every day can change from day to day
And that is why I want to cry

Bright sunshine and field of flowers
Next time, darkness and lonely hours
I guess life is like a game
When you're losing, you have to play
But why do some things have to change
Why can't the good things in life always stay the same
