HANG YOUR BALLS ON THE CHRISTMAS TREE
(Jess Hotchkiss / Kay Martin)
Kay Martin & Her Body Guards - 1962
Grandma gave us a box so wide
We opened it up and looked inside
There were balls of green and red
And here's what Grandma said
I brought the balls for the Christmas tree
This is a present to you from me
While we all sing merrily
You can hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Ooooh, hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Make it look so bright
Hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Oh! Happy Christmas night
My cousin came in kind of late
With some little round things that we all ate
When we rolled them down the hall
He said don't break my popcorn balls
Ooooh, hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Make it look so bright
Hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Oh! Happy Christmas night
Daddy had a big long thing
Tied up with a purple string
A baseball bat, that I could see
But he hung my balls on the Christmas tree
Ooooh, hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Make it look so bright
Hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Oh! Happy Christmas night
Grandpa brought a turkey gobbler
The gobbler gobbled the apple cobbler
Then the strangest thing occurred
We all sat down and ate the bird
When your balls are on the tree
You'll be tickled as can be
When the Yuletide spirit calls
There's nothing like a tree with balls
Oooh, hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Make it look so bright
Hang your balls on the Christmas tree
Oh! Happy Christmas night
