WHERE DID MY SNOWMAN GO?
(Freddie Poser / Geoffrey Venis 1952)
as recorded by Petula Clark
with Children's Chorus
from Dr Barnardo's
November 1952
Did he go to Iceland?
No!
Well, did he go to Snowland?
No no no!
Where did my snowman go?
I can see his pipe and topper,
As they lie there in the snow.
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman go?
I've been asking all the children,
But they said they didn't know.
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman go?
Only yesterday I met Jack Frost,
He knew there'd be a storm,
So I lit a little bonfire just
To keep my snowman warm.
Has he gone to visit Rudolph,
Helping Santa through the snow?
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman go?
Tell me, is he at the North Pole?
No!
Well then, is he at the South Pole?
No no no!
Where did my snowman go?
Did he slide back home to Snowland,
To become an Eskimo?
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman go?
Did he kiss the Christmas fairy
Underneath the mistletoe?
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman go?
When I left him on the cabbage patch,
He seemed so cold and damp,
So I gave him my hot water bag
And lit the sun ray lamp.
Has he gone to visit Rudolph,
Helping Santa through the snow?
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman,
Where did the snowman go?
Where did my snowman go?
Boo-hoo!
(laughter)
